Our story

The big idea and the setback

Perhaps you felt the same way I did a good ten years ago when I noticed that there were surprisingly few children's books for young Muslims. Yet books, stories, and reading aloud are an important part of early childhood education and development.
When my first son was born in 2009, I decided to change that and, together with a dear sister, began working on our first children's book, "The Creation of Allah." It was intended to appeal to even the youngest children and not only be interestingly designed, but also to convey the basics of Islam.
Shortly thereafter, my sister and I came up with the idea of having the book published by a publisher and using the proceeds to finance an Islamic kindergarten. We quickly found a publisher, and the book went to print. Unfortunately, the hoped-for proceeds didn't materialize, which made us incredibly sad. But as the Quran says in Sura al-Baqara (The Cow), verse 216:
"... But perhaps you dislike something while it is good for you, and perhaps you love something while it is bad for you. Allah knows, but you do not know ."

The birth of the publishing house

Yes, we were sad, but without this setback, we probably wouldn't have decided to start our own publishing house in 2010. And Allah—may He be exalted and magnified—knows best.

The first book from Atfaluna Publishing

Almost simultaneously with the founding of the publishing house, we also opened our online shop. And there it was: the first book published by our own publishing house, which we co-authored with Sister Samira Redouani: " Learn the Supplications with Amin ."

How things continued from then on

After a short time, dear sister Atfaluna left, and I continued on my own. Every year, new books and other items were added to the collection, including both my own creations and those of other publishers. It has always been especially important to me to reinvest the profits in new projects. This way, there has never been a standstill, and the money goes to a good cause.

Atfaluna today

Here we are. With not only thirty books , but also posters , postcards , stickers , decorations for Eid and Aqeqah, audiobooks , and games, the shop offers everything our little Muslims' hearts desire. I'm especially proud of the publisher's first game, " The Little Sheik ," in which young and old can demonstrate their Islamic knowledge and ultimately become a sheikh.
And today, nine years after the founding of the publishing house, we can present you our new shop, into which, once again, a lot of heart and soul has gone.

Closing words

I hope that inshallah (Allah willing) the enthusiasm and love with which I complete new projects and books and select other products for the shop will rub off on you and your children, and that each of you will find something in the shop that is not only fun but also educational for young and old.

And now have fun browsing.
