What happens to the child if we constantly shout at him or her?

Many parents think that verbal abuse against their child isn't as bad as physical abuse, such as hitting. But that's wrong.

Yelling at your children has a devastating impact on the relationship between you and your child. It will be permanently damaged. And what parent doesn't want to have a close and intimate relationship with their child?

The constant yelling also massively destroys the child’s development.

What are the consequences of our shouting?

-The child does not listen

-The child turns away from us

-The child no longer has any respect for us

-The child no longer trusts us

-The child rebels

-The child closes himself off to us

-The child's emotional development is destroyed

Your own behavior rubs off on your children. The more you yell at them, the more difficult your relationship becomes.

There will be backlash, slammed doors, and violent outbursts of anger. As the child enters puberty, they will also yell at them and turn away from them completely.

Be careful: Even the occasional yelling at a child can have an impact. Their self-confidence takes a small hit every time. This is true even if everything else is going well and you have a strong relationship with your child.

So what do we do when stressful situations arise and we feel helpless and don’t know what to do?

- Complete the task together with your children.

Clean up together and enjoy how great everything looks afterwards

- So speak to it directly and don't shout into the room as you pass by.

-If you notice that you are about to explode, leave the room for a moment and take a deep breath, preferably in the fresh air.

-Think about the love you have for your children. Think about the positive aspects of your child and how much you love them.

- Reflect on yourself to slowly but surely stop shouting.
