Bedtime ritual based on the example of the Prophet Muhammad (sws)
Do you also have bedtime rituals for your children?
We speak to our children every night alongside the well-known Dua "Bismika Allahmuma amutu wa ahya" (Dua sticker)
also a prayer that I wrote myself, which I wrote together with the children.
It works like this:
"Dear Allah, we thank you for the beautiful day and ask you for a good night. Protect us from all evil and bad, guide us on the right path, and let us all be among the people of Paradise, Amin!
Afterwards, the children can take turns sharing what they found great or special about the day and what they would like to thank Allah for. The children can also send their wishes to Allah.
Then I recite the three protective suras from the Quran, 112, 113, 114, into the palms of my hands.
Then I gently rub our hands together to warm them up, and then gently stroke each child's head, down their body, over their legs, and to their feet. Then I go back to the head, over their shoulders, and to their arms and hands. Most children enjoy these strokes as a special treat at the end of the day.
We also recite Al-Fatiha, the Throne Verse, and the last two verses of Surah Al-Baraqa together. This way, I leave the children to Allah with a clear conscience, and the children also receive a great deal of security and affection through the daily ritual.
PS This book is best suited as a bedtime story before falling asleep:
